Drip, Drip, Drip

It has been 2 weeks since my last post. I’m sure that the world and all life therein, has continued to pootle around on its axis, even during the lack of any blog posting nuggets from myself. ;-)

So what is going on? Where have you been my little cherub? Are you OK? You complete me… You had me at hello… blah, blah, blah.

I hear you dear readers. I hear you. I’m back and at it. Currently sitting in my lounge, composing this ‘ere posting, with the sound of dripping water cascading off the roof, down the guttering, as it rains and rains and blooming rains some more outside. We’ve had a little bit of a kerfuffle with the rain recently over here in blighty – for any of you reading from overseas.

In a neatly ordered list, hereby follows my antics over the past 2 weeks of going ‘dark’ on my blogging:

  • OCH AYE THE NOO
I drove up to Scotland and spent 9 days visiting very good friends of mine, and their 5 month old daughter (it is quite incredible how much attention and surreptitious glances you get from women-folk while holding a baby in public! Joy unconfined.). It was just the break I needed to relax and revitalise myself ahead of the Christmas and New Year period.
  • SELL, SELL, SELL
I have been continuing my life possessions fire-sale. Ebay has been a godsend, and I’ve managed to shift a heck of a lot of DVDs and games on ebay, and made a fair old wedge. All my auction earnings are being stashed away for the New Zealand fund. £1000 or so has been raised through various items being shifted. Not bad – I still have an awful lot of stuff to get rid of, including various expensive items of furniture and gadgets. All this cash will definitely come in useful.
  • COME ON YOU SPURS!
Over the past 2 weeks, my beloved Tottenham Hotspur have been doing fairly well for themselves, and have cheekily climbed to 3rd in the Premiership table. The highlight was last weekends 9-1 (Yes… 9!) drubbing of Wigan! Goals, goals, goals. The less said about the England Rugby team during this period the better. :-(
  • THAT GOD-AWFUL ‘JOB’ I DO
Another reason for the lack of blog posting recently, has been thanks to my completely awful and soul-destroying job I’ve stupidly sat on for 7 years. I came back from my holiday in Scotland, and immediately started a week on-call at work, which I’m now in the final few hours of now. This pretty much puts the kibosh on concentrating on anything for a week, what with all the call-outs from distant lands and distant people, in amongst the various nightly planned work. Hey-ho, this is the last on-call week ever, and in 3 weeks I leave the sodding place!
  • EOI SELECTED… THEN PROMPTLY DECLINED :-(
I will post about this shortly. I had a sneaky suspicion that this would be the case, so not overly down-hearted, and my plans have not deviated one jot.
  • Anyways… that’s more than enough for now. Just something to whet your appetite until I post again. Thought I needed to update you all on my current status [single and ready to mingle].

      Hey Si,

Glad to hear you’re back in the land of the living – was getting a wee bit worried :)

Looking forward to your next post about the whole EOI thing
